This EDA position serves as a lead trainer in the work areas by providing specialized instructional training to individuals to maximize independence in a variety of skill areas which may include:
vocational, communication, academic, money management, dining, domestic, and self-help.
Job responsibilities include the following:
Assists Teachers with assessing strengths, needs, and preferences of individuals to facilitate development of instructional training objectives and activities.
Ensures that instructional training programs are conducted properly and that instructional responses (data) is accurately and consistently documented.
Monitors instructional training programs and provides input and recommendations to address ongoing progress and program development.
Maintain accurate records of working time and data, on work and skills performed by the individuals.
Serves as a mentor for support staff in the work areas.

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they clearly possess all of the following:
Working knowledge of practical application of task analysis and instructional methodologies; data collection systems; and of practical application of behavioral programming techniques.
Working knowledge of characteristics of population served and levels of support leading to independence.
Demonstrated skills in reading comprehension and writing.
Ability to instruct; to establish rapport with and relate to population served, their teacher and a variety of service disciplines (occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech/language pathologist, psychologist, social workers, nurses and home managers) Demonstrated ability to observe behavior and communicate observations and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
Management Preferences:
Experience in vocational work settings with knowledge of instructional methodologies; recording responses to instruction, orientation and introduction of new job tasks, knowledge of time keeping records kept on individuals employed.
Successful completion of CPI and CPR.
Possess a Clear Valid Driver's License.
Experience driving oversized delivery and regular vehicles, forklifts, and or operating hand carts.
Experience with providing therapeutic interventions to encourage appropriate work behaviors, deescalate inappropriate behaviors and increase compliance with work request.
Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Other requirements:
stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, visual acuity, inside/outside activities.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of experience working with students in an educational environment, -or- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
