Responsibilities:
As a Material Management and Transportation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the flow of materials and goods within our organization.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Material Planning and Procurement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess material needs and develop effective procurement strategies.
Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, with a preference for expertise in SAP, to manage and monitor inventory levels.
Generate and analyze reports to identify potential material shortages and surplus.
Logistics and Transportation:
Coordinate transportation activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products.
Work closely with logistics partners to optimize shipping routes and reduce lead times.
Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and address any issues that may arise during transit.
Inventory Management:
Implement and maintain efficient inventory control procedures.
Conduct regular audits to validate inventory accuracy and address discrepancies promptly.
Optimize stock levels to balance supply and demand while minimizing carrying costs.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement in material management and transportation.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in material management, procurement, and transportation.
Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems, with a preference for SAP proficiency.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in material management and transportation.
Contract Terms:
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and business needs.
