Summary:
The Medicare Insurance Clerk works directly with physicians to ensure all patients/clients receive the proper medical equipment prescribed.
He/she also works directly with the patient/client and their insurance company to ensure payment of the equipment and supplies they receive from Down East Medical.
Responsibilities:
Physicians, patients, and customers are served by providing quality durable medical equipment and supplies in a timely manner.
Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of Down East Medial Supply and Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Graduate PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT One (1) year experience in the medical field filing insurance.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION None required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS Verbal and writing skills are necessary for effective communication with referral services, insurance companies and customers.
Knowledge of durable medical equipment and medical terminology.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Stressful working conditions, irregular hours, constant interruptions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT Ability to lift load of up to 50 lbs.
